OnPointPOS is the next-generation point-of-sale client that succeeds the long-running PlatinumPOS Windows client — same proven database, brand-new cross-platform front end. Windows, iPad, Android. Offline-first. Built with Flutter on top of ASP.NET Core and SQL Server.

The problem we set out to solve.

PlatinumPOS has been in market for two decades and the database is rock solid. The Windows-only front end is showing its age and operators want choice — iPad on the floor, Android in the kitchen, Windows at the counter. We needed to modernise the client without disturbing the database that thousands of sites depend on.

How we built it.

We rebuilt the client layer in Flutter for true cross-platform support — Windows, iPad, Android — running offline-first against a local SQLite cache and syncing to the existing SQL Server back end. Added next-generation features that competitors charge separately for: Kitchen Display System, customer displays, real-time dashboards, QR ordering. EMV payment processing via Datacap.

Where it is now.

OnPointPOS is in active rollout across restaurants and bars. PlatinumPOS sites can migrate without changing their database. New features ship to the cross-platform client first.

What's worth knowing.

  • Cross-platform: Windows, iPad, Android (Flutter)
  • Kitchen Display System and customer displays included
  • QR-based ordering and real-time dashboards built in
  • Offline-first with SQLite cache, EMV via Datacap

What it runs on.
